50 workers in protective suits doing to this beach cleaning; how do they get these beach cleaning jobs and who signs their paychecks - are they per diem, hourly for a local clean-up company or a sub-contractor of a larger organization, or temps? Volunteers from conservation organizations? Do they have to have special training and/or just go from hazmat-type beach/wildlife oil spill clean-up to clean-up...Please educate as I'm in a landlocked area now and never lived by an ocean beach - closest was a home not far(>5 miles) from one of the Great Lake Erie where the ships tend to haul iron ore.

volunteers and ngo's typically mobilize for wildlife rescue.
