Police Arrest Woman Caught on Camera Setting New York Jewish School on Fire

Source: Newsweek

Police on Sunday said that they arrested a woman who allegedly poured gasoline in front of a New York City Jewish school and set it on fire.

The woman, identified as 39-year-old Sharee Jones, faces charges of attempted arson and reckless endangerment as a hate crime, the New York Police Department's Hate Crimes task force tweeted.

On Friday, the NYPD posted a video that shows Jones allegedly walking in front of the Yeshivah of Flatbush in Brooklyn as she holds a red gasoline canister. She then drenches the ground with gasoline and then allegedly lights up a fire.

A security guard at the school was able to put out the blaze with an extinguisher shortly after.

A 39-year-old Brooklyn woman was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment as a hate crime and attempted arson on Sunday. Sharee Jones was captured on surveillance footage last week allegedly pouring gasoline outside the Yeshiva of Flatbush and lighting it on fire. A school security guard quickly put out the fire before it could spread, and no one was injured. But it did leave local residents—several of whom are Holocaust survivors—shaken, according to ABC7 New York. The investigation of the attack on the Jewish school was spearheaded by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force. The unit put out a call for tips after a woman, alleged to be Jones, was spotted carrying a red gas canister and speaking through a megaphone near the crime scene shortly before the incident. Gothamist reported this weekend that the incident was the latest in an unprecedented spike in hate crimes across the city.

i think that gas can was a big clue (and the megaphone just in case someone didn't notice the gas can)

Would they take the time or the effort to photoshop an image of a suspect?

Am I missing a possible conspiracy or something?

15 years without parole if she keeps her mouth shut, or three years, with all but six months of it suspended, if she tells the cops who put her up to it, and gives enough info to result in a conviction. I hope her interrogators are Sgt. Liebowitz and Sgt. Goldberg, just so she gets the message in no uncertain terms of whether or not she is on friendly turf.

Agreed, that is the only "evidence," but men tend to be instigators for such acts. I realize they do not have exclusive perpetrator rights.

I’m gonna go with the simple explanation to me. Possible mentally ill women who hates Jews acting on her hatred of Jews gets arrested.

So if any hard evidence of conspiracy pops up please share.

Sometimes people are just mean and vindictive. And easily led by propaganda. And why assume she is "within our most vulnerable communities."? Mind you, i'm not disagreeing with the "We have a mental health crisis in this country of mammoth proportions" statement...

Nor for any arsonists, period. (obviously).

The unleashing of hate may not be only a Trump phenomenon, but it surely has a direct line correlation in its increase.
