Michigan Rep. Brenda Lawrence announces she won't seek reelection to Congress

Michigan Rep. Brenda Lawrence has formally announced that she will not seek reelection to Congress.

“This year marks my 30th year in elected public office and I’ve had the good fortune of serving Michiganders on the local and national level,” Lawrence said in a Tweet. “After reflecting on my journey and having conversations with my family, I’m announcing that I will not be seeking reelection to Congress.”

... of Republican gerrymandering. So, her new district is a bit less safe, no longer shaped to confine as many Dem votes as possible.

The new district boundaries are being challenged in court: there are fewer districts in which voters-of-color are in the majority.

I wonder if this gives Rep Dingell an option as to which district she'll run in.
