He was an anti-vaxxer, and wound up getting infected by the virus and dying from it.

(8,200 posts)It only reveals just how damn ignorant some people insist on being. It is unfortunate, but not excusable. He not only lost his own life but jeopardized anyone with whom he came in contact. Will the insanity that has been sown by Trump and his minions ever come to end? It seems it will only die when they are planted in the earth.

(15,220 posts)But let's be correct here, too, please. The article clearly states that his vaccine status was unknown.
I didn't like his political views, but I did like his music. And I'm sorry when anyone dies.

(1,614 posts)die one second before my time. And not taking a vaccine that can prevent death then dying, is dying early. Foolish.

(15,536 posts)"die before my time". I know it's a phrase that is used, but how does anyone know when their "time" is supposed to be?
74 years old for a male of his generation is average lifespan.

no matter how old he was, he didn't have to get Covid or could have lowered the chances. He might have lived longer. His statement sounds like he was tired of life.
People older than he got the vaccine and wore masks. They were deciding to attempt to live as long as they could rather than letting Covid take them.

I can just imagine what that show would have been about sounds like Fear Factor for Romantics.

(218 posts)has just killed my cousin's husband and it may take her too. As they were anti-vaxxers I have not and will not express my condolences. I will let her know if she asks, which she knows no to. Anyone who dies from a preventable virus who didn't take the vaccine is a fool.
This character was just another spoiled famous rich guy. Artist? Like a bat out of HELL NO!! Anyone can scream into a mike with a session band backing them up. He was nothing special. We elevate POS like Clapton, Cocker and other clowns like this one and put them on pedestals. They are entertainers. Why do we value entertainers so much more than educators, nurses, first responders. You know, people who actually contribute to society? No sympathy.

(1,979 posts)But he had a choice, and made a decision that had a high probability of death by COVID. So be it - he died. What infuriates me is that if he did not vaccinate, how many others might he have infected? THAT is what infuriates me.
This virus certainly is thinning out the worst of the ignorant fools who put our entire world at risk, and I'm not mad about that. There is a karmic responsibility here, and they all have made the WRONG choice, on a spiritual level. There is not much worse than doing harm to someone who is not able to defend themselves, and knowingly exposing others to a lethal virus because of your political beliefs is like throwing a live grenade in a building and walking away.
I feel sad that ignorance has taken the life of someone who made an imprint on society at one time. Hope it was worth it Marvin.
Humans continue to confuse and disappoint me lately.

Weber Grills on Friday apologized for that day sending out its recipe-of-the-week email which this time included a recipe for BBQ Meat Loaf, the same day rock star Meat Loaf was reported dead.
At the time we shared this recipe with you, we were not away of the unfortunate passing of American singer and actor Mr. Marvin Lee Aday, also known as Meat Loaf, the Illinois-based company said shortly after sending the initial email.
The Weber Family proceeded to offer condolences to the family and fans of the For Crying Out Loud and Paradise by the Dashboard Light singer
