Mike Pence, Crafting 2024 Run, Seizes Opportunity on Abortion

Last edited Sat Jan 22, 2022, 07:33 PM - Edit history (1)

Source: Newsweek

Former Vice President Mike Pence's political advocacy group issued a statement on Saturday about the 49th anniversary of 1973's Roe v. Wade saying it "hopefully will be the last."

Advancing American Freedom (AAF) marked the anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision on abortion rights by pledging to work end abortions in the U.S. The Supreme Court is currently weighing abortion cases that could be pivotal.

Pence has seized on the issue of abortion as speculation has swirled about his potential presidential ambitions for 2024 and the possibility he could challenge former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.

The AAF Pro-Life Task Force sent an email to subscribers on Friday saying that the battle anti-abortion activists "have been fighting for so long might finally see victory."

Step out of your bubble Mikee. About 70% of the country is pro-choice.

Also when on looks at how the GOP has handled COVID there's no way in hell they're pro-life.

Look at it this way -- he doesn't have to win an early primary, he just has to come close to show that Trump's support in the party is WEAK. HAVEN'T front running candidates in both parties been knocked out in early primaries before because they just showed no Enthusiasm from voters for them?

Every single time, over the past 4+ years that I've said: "it can't get much crazier than this" then a republican rears its ugly little head and we reach a completely new level of insanity & depravity......

It is like they are all competing in a race to the bottom.????????????

will come back to haunt him.

That law he signed was not designed to protect Religious freedom, but a way to discriminate against the LGBTQ community by businesses. The uproar from that is still fresh and if Pence were to run, it will be brought up.

Not to mention his mishandling of HIV/AIDS treatment facilities in Indiana.

In a Trumpless alternate universe, Mike Pence would be a prime candidate for them.

He won't get the nomination because the Trump fanatics despise him; he didn't go crazy enough on Jan 6. That's the scary part here.

that is what the GOP is going to offer up instead of Trump.

Cruz - the most hated person in the Senate.

Pence - the "pro life" guy who the 30 percent "pro life" supporters actually want to hang.

And Death Satan - an actual dictator wannabe.

my guess, Death Satan wins the nom... but only if Trump keels over/

personality. He doesn't realize his political career is over, even after megats tried to hang him on J6.

Not a clue. He's thicker than I thought.

I do have to give it to him for not going along with the "big lie" lie and for hanging in there on J6 and doing his sworn duty to validate the real EC votes which stopped trump's coup attempt in it's tracks.

But trump and magats will never forgive him for actually doing the right thing.

There are conservatives who are single issue voters and their issue is outlawing abortion. Fine.

I'm a single issue voter when it comes to abortion too. If a politician thinks women aren't smart enough and moral enough to make the decision whether or not to continue a pregnancy totally on their own, perhaps with the advice if their physician, then that person will not get my vote - EVER. And there are a lot more Americans like me than there anti-choice RWNJs.
