US offers no concessions in response to Russia on Ukraine

Source: AP

By VLADIMIR ISACHENKOV and MATTHEW LEE

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration and NATO told Russia on Wednesday there will be no U.S. or NATO concessions on Moscow’s main demands to resolve the crisis over Ukraine.

In separate written responses delivered to the Russians, the U.S. and NATO held firm to the alliance’s open-door policy for membership, rejected a demand to permanently ban Ukraine from joining, and said allied deployments of troops and military equipment in Eastern Europe are nonnegotiable.

“There is no change, there will be no change,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said. Also not up for negotiation will be the U.S. and European response to any Russian invasion of Ukraine, he said, repeating the mantra that any such incursion would be met with massive consequences and severe economic costs.

The responses were not unexpected and mirrored what senior U.S. and NATO officials have been saying for weeks. Nonetheless, they and the eventual Russian reaction to them could determine whether Europe will again be plunged into war.

Who has said clearly the West is overreacting…as usual the love of war happening is all that matters….never mind the actual political leader of the nation under the microscope…disagrees.

Anyone else seeing this?

Well, obviously everything is fine. Justl like how the leader of Afghanistan said everything was fine,no need to panic. Listening there worked out sooo well, right?

Alternatively let's look to the realities. Are the Ukrainian armed forces still eagerly acquiring any weaponry anyone will provide? Where are those forces stationed, and are they giving out lots of leave time right now, or on high alert? Are Russian troops currently in action on Ukrainian soil without permission/against express directions from what is theoretically a sovereign nation?

Russian claims of innocence fall pretty flat

And now this….

Representatives from Russia and Ukraine will meet for another round of talks in two weeks after leaders huddled on Wednesday amid increased tensions in the region.

Kremlin envoy Dmitry Kozak told reporters in Paris that the two sides will participate in more discussions in two weeks in Berlin, according to Bloomberg.

You might want to re-evaluate that statement.

Your whole post is full of, well, it ain't truth that it's full of.

How much classified Intel did trump give putin, and what deficits in both our own national security and nato/international relationships did he leave behind that may or may not be public information?

But Putin still playing chicken.

He think the west will back down.

Putin wants all those countries back to steal from.

President Biden had sent in some military gear that can stop tanks.

How many Russians want to die for Putin.

I have Czech distant cousins, they do not want to be part of the Russian empire.

Trump would have given the country to Putin.

I am sure that was the plan
