Sec. Albright spent countless hours on the University of Denver campus--as did her father, and I met her on several occasions there.

Only the height of respect and admiration for her. What a loss.

I'm supposed to go teach in a few minutes, and I'm bawling.

Oh, how I wish she could have lived long enough to see Putin chased out of Ukraine.
I'm sure that would have made her heart glad.

on edit: One of the most fun art exhibits I ever saw was at Phoenix Art Museum of her large collection of brooches. She wrote little anecdotes about each one stating what it symbolized to her and why she chose to wear it on certain occasions. It really demonstrated her wit and intellect.

What a great lady.

I can imagine that the exhibit you saw was spectacular. I've only seen them in her book, "Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box." Hardcover with lots of pictures and stories.

Her talent and intelligence are second to none.

There was a post here a couple weeks ago with quotes from her about the war in Ukraine. I respected her viewpoint.

Madeleine Albright was a Girl Scout and as a life-time Scout and a feminist it was an exciting moment!

In 2000 I was leading a Junior/Cadette Troop and we had a blast getting our "Global Awareness Badge" in honor of Madeleine Albright.

She will be missed!

I got to see her at Senator Patty Murray’s “Golden Tennis Shoe” awards luncheon. I also got to see her collection of pins when it was on tour. Check out her book ‘Read My Pins’ for a fascinating look into the messages she was sending through her jewelry.

You served with style and distinction, and great honor and class.

And we all loved following your "secret code" - the subtle, unspoken messages in the brooches you wore with such panache.

53. Bill Clinton on why Ukraine was on Madeleine Albright's mind before her death
Thu Mar 24, 2022, 12:34 PM
Mar 2022

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright spent most of her life thinking about the world. Even as she battled cancer, the turmoil in Ukraine remained on her mind, former President Bill Clinton told "CBS Mornings" on Thursday.

"She spent the whole rest of the time talking about Ukraine. And it was like the replay of a bad movie for her, as well as a very modern tragedy," Clinton said.

Albright, who served under Clinton as America's top diplomat, died of cancer on Wednesday. She was the 64th U.S. secretary of state and the first woman to ever serve in the role. Clinton said Albright, who was a great friend to him and Hillary for many years, was perfectly suited to be his secretary of state.

"We just loved her, and she was a special woman. But she was suited for the time because it was, keep in mind, it was the end of the Cold War, I was the first president to serve my entire tenure after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Soviet Union," Clinton said. "So, we all had to decide what to do, and we were trying to build a world and particularly a Europe that was democratic, at peace, working together for shared prosperity for the first time since nations had existed on the European continent."
