(30,151 posts)Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney leads the pack of Republican presidential candidates in many states, including Texas, where Gov. Rick Perry -- who once led the race in his home state -- now comes in third.
In September, Perry drew 49 percent of the vote in this poll, compared with 10 percent for Romney, who was second.
But now, Romney is drawing 24 percent, Newt Gingrich 23 percent, Perry 18 percent, Rick Santorum 15 percent and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul 12 percent, according to the poll conducted this month. "These numbers have to be seen as an embarrassment for Rick Perry," said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling. "It's pretty bad when you get to the point where you're not even in the top two in your home state."

(18,998 posts)But that does not mean a lot for VP...LBJ was not all that popular but was chosen for VP too for the reason he was from a big state.
Besides it is now who votes but who counts the votes that matters...and as govener he controls that.

he started this joke of a campaign?
Second...another JOKE. He says that Newty will ignore the "special interests" in D.C.??? Hell...Newty will
be the first in line to get those special deals for himself and his crooked ilk.

of hours of free material.
