2 minors dead, 9 wounded in shooting at Pittsburgh party

Source: Associated Press

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Two minors were dead and at least nine more people were wounded in a shooting at a house party in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. during a party at a short-term rental property where there were more than 200 people inside — many of them underage, Pittsburgh police said in a news release.

At least 11 people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, including the two male victims who died at the hospital, police said. The victims weren’t immediately identified.

Others were injured attempting to flee, with at least two people suffering broken bones by jumping out of the building’s windows, authorities said.

Although if they want to immigrate here it’s because it’s even worse where they live.

There are several shootings weekly (sometimes daily). Too many guns out there and too much violence. This one was the worst that I can recall though. Tragic.

Celebrating a holiday and your loved ones come home in a box.

Just so gunhumpers can have guns. Why are the majority of Americans being held captive by bullies, murderers and traitors?

Violent crime, including gun crime, while up over recent lows is still not at a level we saw in the 70's-90's. It's the daily reporting that has changed. We are now aware of every tragic event in the country thanks to the "If it bleeds it leads" media.

crime scenes. I wouldn't doubt we have more civilians killed by small arms on most days than in Ukraine.

with the intention of shooting someone. That is pretty heavily armed for a party.

Rifles, pistols, over 200 underage people at a short term rental (Airbnb)…
And I feel bad for neighbors having to put up with apts, homes, backyards with pools, that suddenly are turned into party locations, which once were just normal a residence.

There is at least one adult (possibly more) responsible for this.

Somebody (presumably an adult) rented the AirBnB and paid for it by credit card. Somebody (presumably an adult) purchased and provided the alcohol. Somebody (adult?) allowed gang-bang kids to enter the party. Did the kids have guns? Of course they did.

Did things get out of hand? Of course they did.

What good does it do for Airbnb to "ban" the person who rented the house? Another person will use their name next time. Meanwhile a business owner is letting their property be used for huge parties like this.

Either owners should have to carry large amounts of liability insurance, like any business owner who lets the public in, or they should be shut down if ONE incident like this happens.

Right now there's NO incentive for Airbnb owners to watch out for what happens to their neighbors while THEY are away.

Was that rental transaction done with the owner knowing this party would take place? Probably not. But at what point did he or she find out, and what was done to stop it?

On the local Pgh news yesterday, it was reported the AirBnB was rented by one person, then passed down to her son who then advertised a "free movie" party for $5/person. They showed a screen shot of the ad on the news. The place got overrun and the renter reportedly fired his gun into the air to get the crowd to clear out. Then other attendees who had their own guns started shooting and all he11 broke out.

This story quotes the cops as saying the gun fire resulted from an altercation although that's contradicted by what was reported on KDKA TV news yesterday.
