(10,429 posts)I don't know why anyone would want to live there in the current, unlikely-to-change-for-the-forseeable-future, Floriduh.
I wouldn't visit there now no matter what. Don't the rightwing jackasses know they're destroying tourism? The biggest moneymaker FL has??
This has to be the last straw for DeSatan.

(26,731 posts)Crist is dramatically ahead of his primary opponent, but the vast majority of public polls released show DeSantis with a moderate to comfortable lead.
Crist's campaign recently claimed that there was a "secret" poll from a republican pollster showing a one point lead for Crist. But there are significant questions there.

(8,702 posts)It seems Publix is the only grocery store in FL . They're located every so many miles. FL is almost there like Russia with that un-American pos douche DeSantis. With mainly just Publix in the area they control prices and limit choices.

(8,701 posts)So many small kids cry and try to run when given shots - Publix may not want the liability of staff doing this and possibly giving shot too high up in arm which can cause SERVA. Also, publicity of children being held down and screaming while getting a shot would be rampant because of cell phones. Better to have pediatricians or their nurses who work exclusively with kids give the shots. Also, because of side effects of fevers, etc working closely with a Dr sounds safest.
Having worked at a childrens hospital when I was younger, surgeries were postponed when kids had temper tantrums and nurses were not able to get blood drawn. When I was about 6, I had my tonsils out (they grew back in) and a nurse was trying to give me a shot - she didnt succeed because I out maneuvered her.

(128,895 posts)Pharmacists are normally not authorized to give immunizations to infants/toddlers under age 3 per federal guidelines, but are permitted to do them down to that age subject to stipulations in state law for certifications, etc.
Using the PREP Act (Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act), HHS has periodically been updating rules for childhood vaccinations administered by pharmacists as a result of the current pandemic and its aftermath of a troubling drop in vaccinations for other childhood diseases, with the latest update done back in January 2022 - Tenth Amendment to Declaration Under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act for Medical Countermeasures Against COVID-19 (PDF version here)
States then have authorities based on state law.
There is a good (although not completely up-to-date) interactive website from a pharmacist's association, that details the laws in every state - https://naspa.us/resource/pharmacist-authority-to-immunize/ (state legislation update from last year here that has most likely been superseded but not updated at the site)
Interestingly, when I was doing this post and listening to the radio, I actually heard a story where the PA legislature was looking at updating the waivers in current state law regarding pharmacists and vaccinations set to expire at the end of the month and it seems all hell has been breaking out between pediatricians and pharmacists.

(6,617 posts)but sadly, they have gone downhill particularly since the pandemic. I am sure they had supply issues during the middle of the pandemic but those things should have been worked out by now. Seems they just don't care too much about their customers' needs anymore.
