Top election officials in Arizona county leave amid threats

Source: AP

PHOENIX (AP) -- The elected county recorder and the elections director in Arizona's Yavapai County are resigning after more than a year and a half of threats and heated criticism from backers of former President Donald Trump who accept his lie that he lost the 2020 election because of fraud.

County Recorder Leslie Hoffman said Friday that she is fed up with the "nastiness" and has accepted a job outside the county. Her last day will be July 25. She said longtime elections director Lynn Constabile is leaving for the same reason, and Friday is her last day.

"A lot of it is the nastiness that we have dealt with," Hoffman said. "I'm a Republican recorder living in a Republican county where the candidate that they wanted to win won by 2-to-1 in this county and still getting grief, and so is my staff."

Hoffman and Constabile's experiences are not unique, as election professionals across the nation have been threated and harassed since Trump's loss. A former Georgia election worker testified to a congressional committee last week about how her life was upended when Trump and his allies falsely accused her and her mother of pulling fraudulent ballots from a suitcase in Georgia.

Suggests a certain unwillingness to place responsibility where it belongs.

“I’m not sure what they think that we did wrong," she said. “And they’re very nasty. The accusations and the threats are nasty.”

I expect outside of the brainwashed zombies, the rest are paid. They are acting like vigilantes who couldn't find their "criminals" so they manufacture new ones to give themselves something "to do". They are literally eating their own and I would hope one of these days, that those accepting that abuse would just go ahead and become independents and stop supporting a party that doesn't support them.

All of this craziness, with it's embracing of hate and resentment, is the result of a 50 year campaign of brainwashing and manipulation. By effectively using the media, the power elite ( wealthy individuals), have corralled people's natural instinct for survival and contorted it so serves their interests, which is keeping what they have and accumulating more. It's natural to want to feel safe and maintain a stable existence and these desires, through the use of well constructed media campaigns, have been cleverly shaped to orient people to certain points of view. Once you convince people their interests are best served by adopting these ideas you then have control of this now 'mob'. So the question is how do you combat this plague of disinformation. Well it will not be easy...you have a lot of zombies who are conditioned to passionately fight against their own best interest. The only effective strategy is to ignite the youth of this country by putting them into a state of frightened awareness. The recent supreme court decisions are the perfect catalyst to wake up the young. The young people must be made to fear what is coming so they will "Fight like hell" to stop it. If I was running the national Democratic campaign I would target this youth group and bombard them with messages using the same fear tactics that have been so effectively used by the GOP. Women and girls will be jailed for seeking abortions, the Earth is on the verge of a complete environmental collapse, you will never be able to retire with this corporation run World...but this must be done with dramatic and horrific images of what is to come. Fighting fire with fire is the only to wake up this young generation... we need a riot of the minds.

per capita in the US. They are ignorant, fanatic, armed, and dangerous.

The DOJ needs to get boots on the ground there, and spend significant resources finding and prosecuting those who threaten election officials and others in Yavapai County,in order to prevent these domestic terrorists from continuing to organize with the intent to overthrow the local, state, and federal government.

Immediately.

Some campaign money needs to be invested in targeting any Republican in public office who does not stand up and say "There was NO voter fraud in 2020, there is NO evidence that the election was stolen, Elections in the United States are secure and safe."

Don't these morons realize that Republicans were elected to office on the same ballots that had the Presidential race at the top? None of those elected Republicans are complaining that their election was stolen. And if that's the case, then how could any other votes on the same ballots be fraudulent or counted differently? And if someone was just going to feed in thousands of votes just for the President, there would be a huge discrepancy in the total number of votes cast in ever election. There wasn't. Also, if someone was going to stuff the ballot box with thousands of fraudulent ballots, why would they mark the spots for the Republicans down the ballot who won their races? Those discrepancies, along with not being able to match the fraudulent ballots with signatures in the book or with voters who signed envelopes and mailed or dropped them in, would be easy to see. They're are none. And if they're claiming that's the case, then they are lying.

This is in the hands of the voters and these phony liars need to be repeatedly exposed.
