The Stonehenge-like structure was built in 1980 and has come under fire for being Satanic.

Not saying that the structure was nice or not, it's that someone would blow it up because whatever.
We have become a militant society where, somehow, disagreement has become an open invitation for extreme violence. I grew up in a violent family and even helped collect my dad's guns to remove them all from the house so he wouldn't kill us all before I was a teenager, I know about violence and it's affects. I don't get why anyone wants to live with it and expect everyone else to accept it as normal.
I seriously hope that our trajectory will change enough to put us on a better course and soon.

(5,609 posts)There's nothing about religion in there, certainly nothing that could be identified as Satanic. Makes me wish I'd gone to see it while it was still around.

Elbert County is beautiful and the site is on a hilltop with fantastic views of the farmland and woodlands.
I am really sad that such an awful terrorist act took place in my area.
RIP Guidestones.
