Five killed, five wounded in shooting attack in Jerusalem; terrorist shot

Five people have been shot and killed and another five wounded in a terror shooting attack in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov neighborhood, police and medics said Friday night.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said its medics were treating ten victims. Five of them were declared dead at the scene.

Police said the suspected gunman had been shot.

Preliminary reports suggested the terror attack occurred in or near a synagogue.

A US military raid in Somalia ordered by President Joe Biden this week killed a key regional leader of the Islamic State group, Bilal al-Sudani, according to US officials.

Sudani was killed on Wednesday during a gunfight after US troops descended on a mountainous cave complex in northern Somalia hoping to capture him.

Around 10 of Sudani’s Islamic State associates at the scene were killed, but there were no American casualties, the officials said on Thursday.

At least eight people were killed and another 10 injured in a terror attack at a synagogue in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem on Friday evening.

The terrorist, who opened fire at people leaving the synagogue after Friday night prayers, was killed by security forces after attempting to escape in a car.

Two men were shot and wounded in a terror attack outside Jerusalem’s Old City, police and medics said Saturday morning.

Police said the attacker was a 13-year-old Palestinian from East Jerusalem. He was shot and wounded by armed members of the group he attacked.

The Kan public broadcaster named the attacker as Muhammad Aliyat from Silwan.

22. Palestinian gunman opens fire at West Bank restaurant; no injuries

A Palestinian gunman opened fire at a restaurant near the Almog Junction close to Jericho in the West Bank earlier this evening, the military says.

Surveillance camera footage of the incident showed the gunman armed with an assault rifle and another person approaching the restaurant.

A military source says the gunman had a jam in his weapon and only managed to fire one shot, before fleeing the scene.
