Scott Brown questions Edward Markey’s state residency in jab at possible opponent

Source: Boston Globe

Senator Scott Brown today took on a possible opponent in a special election to succeed his colleague John F. Kerry, questioning whether US Representative Edward J. Markey is actually a resident of Massachusetts.

Brown has hinted he would compete in the special election but not made a formal commitment to a race, while Markey has said he will run if Kerry is confirmed as President Obama’s second-term secretary of state.

“I’ll tell you what; They’re making it awfully tempting. You got Ed Markey: Does he even live here any more?” Brown said with a laugh as he called into the “Jim & Margery Show” on WTKK-FM.

“You’ve got to check the travel records. I’ve come back and forth (from Washington to Boston) every weekend, almost, for three years, and I see, you know, most of the delegation, and I have never seen Ed on the airplane - ever,” Brown added.

This shows once again that Brown has nothing to show for his 2 years as Senator and thus he'll go negative just to win.

Also a trip from Washington DC to Boston on Amtrak is about 6 hours, perhaps he took the train instead?

I have family and interests in MA, and have had for all my life.

I regularly "made the trek" from DC to MA. Quite often, by CAR.

It's nine hours, tops. If you leave in the still of the night you can make very good time.

Further, you can every so often get a "log" flight to Bedford, if you know how to play it.

If he keeps bringing this shit up, then it's only natural that we ask about HIS living arrangements. His WIFE is employed in DC. And if we're going to get down and dirty and start talking about people's living arrangements, let's talk about their pasts, too...he's opening up cans of worms in a rather self-destructive way.

Scott Brown showed his leadership as a Senator with his cliff vote...wait to see what everyone else is doing, pick the best possible political move and vote with the majority. For weeks he was quiet how he would vote. He spent the election saying "no way" to any tax increases and when it came time to vote found the wind blowing in one direction and he followed right along. I can't stand him and his frat boy sense of humor.

For someone whose wife has been working OUTSIDE Massachusetts, in DC, for two years, now, he's doing a lot of shooting off his big fat mouth. What, is she living in a trailer?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gail_Huff

Gail Huff is an American broadcast journalist and the wife of Scott Brown, U.S. Senator from Massachusetts.

Huff works as a television reporter for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C..,[1] after seventeen years for WCVB-TV, Channel 5, the ABC network affiliate in Boston.[2][3]...in 2010, she took a position with WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C..[1]

What a fucking idiot the guy is...let's call attention to HIS living arrangements! Break out the tax returns, too--let's see how Gail filed...!!!

This is his opening salvo? Really?
"I haven't seen Markey sitting on the same plane with me, so he never comes home."
Outside of Howie Carr (Boston Herald political nitwit), the blowhards on Boston's right-wing talk radio and the wingnuts who pay attention to them, this won't have the slightest impact on anything.

Not an issue I'd want to bring up if I were him. Just sayin'.
