Indian women strip and beat politician accused of rape

A group of angry women reportedly set upon an Indian politician accused of rape and doled out a bit of street justice. According to the New York Times‘ India Ink blog, Bikram Singh Brahma, a member of the Congress Party in the northeastern state of Assam, was attacked after his arrest for the sexual assault of a woman in Assam’s Chirang district.

In a nation already inflamed over the brutal gang rape and death of a 23-year-old woman on a bus in New Delhi, Brahma was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly raped a woman Wednesday night while staying as a guest in her family’s house.

G. P. Singh, the zonal inspector general of police, told the Times in a telephone interview that a case has been filed against Brahma under Indian Penal Code 376 by the woman’s husband. I.P.C. 376 is the code that deals with cases of rape and sexual assault.

Brahma, who denies the charges against him, was attacked by local women who stripped and beat him, according to Sanjit Krishna, the area superintendent of police. Local television showed footage of Brahma struggling to make his way through a crowd of women as they tore off his shirt and hit him in the face and upper body.

...of our own. Between the Steubenville rape gang, the California idiot judge who thinks sleeping single women can't be raped, and the misogynist extremists slithering in the halls of Congress, if we women can't get justice from the legal system, we might have to use our last resort: to take the law into our own hands.

We can first rough up the savages of Steubenville, then progress to doling out some karma to the rethug rape apologists slithering in the halls of Congress and/or state legislatures, then onto those old fossils who don't know their asses from their elbows about being violated and scarred for life.

around the world doing just that (meting justice), especially against slavers. I haven't read it yet, got for the interesting premise, but you know how free kindle goes. I mentioned the plot to a couple of women friends and they both said, I'd donate monthly to a group like that, as would I.

I have to admit, I had a "You go girls" moment. I think we have to figure out how to stand up.

Justice should have nothing to do with cronyism, ideology, sex, religion, wealth, class, politics. It should apply equally to all and it should apply to others as is does to each of us.

That said, when there is unequal justice, vengeance can be perceived by the aggrieved as the ultimate justice. I support the golden rule, justice first and foremost, and in the absence of justice..........you guessed it.
