Mexico Breaks Up Alleged Border Sex-slavery Cult

Source: Associated Press

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican officials broke up a bizarre cult that allegedly ran a sex-slavery ring among its followers on the U.S. border, Mexican immigration authorities said Tuesday.

The "Defensores de Cristo" or "Defenders of Christ" allegedly recruited women to have sex with a Spanish man who claimed he was the reincarnation of Christ, according to an institute official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak publicly about the case.

Followers were subjected to forced labor or sexual services, including prostitution, according to a victims' advocacy group that said it filed a complaint more than a year ago about the cult.

Back in the seventies and eighties there was another fun-loving group called, "Hookers for Jesus." They were known for, "Spreading the good word," and also offered a wide range of additional services, for a donation to further, "The Lord's work," of course.

'A Spanish man is from the country of Spain, a European....from a European country - Spain.

If AP was referring to a Mexican man who speaks Spanish (the language that originate in Europe - Spain) then say so....it they said, allegedly recruited women to have sex with a Italian or French man, both European decent as is a Spanish man.

But I get the felling AP was talking about a Mexican man who spoke Spanish - which of course is native Mexicans first language.

Semantics and trivial and even petty - But that's what forums are for!!

But I think he actually was from Spain.

Those detained include six Spaniards, and two people each from Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela. One person from Argentina and one from Ecuador were also detained. Spain's Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed its citizens were among those arrested.
