(9,974 posts)One was killed at an office building (domestic dispute, shooter of his psych meds reportedly) and then later in the day 3 more in another incident. And a local police officer is in critical condition after being shot by some guy.
Pretty sad when there has to be a certain number of people shot per incident before it makes national headlines

(5,179 posts)It never ends. I'm having pointless arguments with pro-gun DUers on other threads. They keep talking about cars, hammers and all kinds of irrelevant shit.
Meanwhile, people keep getting shot all over the country. The only developed nation without real gun control.

(17,184 posts)... that people are so worried about potential gun-control legislation, they want to get in their killings now? "Use it or lose it."

(101,300 posts)The vehicle that Arthur Douglas Harmon, 70, was likely driving was found in a parking lot in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa. A body matching Harmon's description was found nearby, said Sgt. Steve Martos, spokesman.
The person died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, he said.
Harmon drew a gun and shot both men at the end of a mediation session Wednesday morning at an office building in north-central Phoenix, police said.

(8,352 posts)We live literally right across from the shooting on a small cul de sac residential street. Copters were all over our neighborhood all morning and tons of cops were scouring our block looking for this man before moving on. We have to go shopping soon, and she is rightfully nervous. We often walk right by those office complex's.
Gun violence is everywhere, and it is never really a shock to me that it can literally be in your sphere of life at any point in time without any foreknowledge.
Sad, very sad for the man killed and his family just because he was doing his job and some guy decided to vent his rage with a gun.
