AUC collaborated with Uribe government, spy agency: Don Berna (paramilitary death squads)

AUC collaborated with Uribe government, spy agency: Don Berna

Now-demobilized paramilitary organization AUC received the support of Colombia's intelligence agency DAS, and helped the government of former President Alvaro Uribe in a conspiracy to discredit the country's Supreme Court that was investigating ties between the paramilitaries and politicians, senior AUC commander "Don Berna" testifies.

In his first testimony before Colombian prosecutors since late 2010, Diego Murillo, alias Don Berna, said that the AUC received protection from the DAS and that Don Berna's subordinates helped coordinate the wiretapping of Uribe's politcal opponents, Supreme Court magistrates, journalists and human rights groups.

~snip~

According to the former paramilitary leader, the AUC and DAS worked together closely and the paramilitaries were offered logistical support and protection by the intelligence agency following Jorge Noguera's appointment by Uribe in 2002.

Don Berna also corroborated allegations made by the DAS' former ICT director Alvaro Garcia, who has testified that the DAS was involved in drug trafficking and the paramilitary killings of activists.

...according to witness testimony a couple of months ago?

The U.S. (Bush Junta) embassy!

Now that the connection has been firmly made between the illegal spying and the death squads, a number of U.S. actions by the Bush Junta ambassador (William Brownfield) and also the Obama administration become more intelligible. This has been a coverup-in-progress from at least 2009-2010, when U.S. ambassador Brownfield (whom the Obama administration left in place for several years), a) secretly negotiated a U.S./Colombia military agreement with Uribe that included a provision for total diplomatic immunity for all U.S. military personnel and all U.S. military 'contractors' in Colombia, and b) colluded with Uribe to extradite death squad witnesses to the U.S., on mere drug charges, and arranged their "burial" in the U.S. federal prison system, out of the reach of Colombian prosecutors and over their objections.

It may also illuminate the Obama/Clinton State Dept. "fining" Blackwater for "unauthorized" "trainings" of "foreign persons" IN COLOMBIA "for use in Iraq and Afghanistan" ("unauthorized," my ass), and the granting of instant asylum to Uribe's spy chief, Maria Hurtado, in the U.S client state of Panama, when she fled Colombian prosecutors who wanted her as a witness against (Bush Jr pal, mafia boss & president of Colombia), Alvaro Uribe.

Guess: These "unauthorized" (i.e., authorized by Bush Junta principles) "trainings" in Colombia were "turkey shoots" against labor leaders, human rights workers, teachers, peasant organizers, etc., IN COLLUSION WITH Uribe's death squads.

Another guess: The reason that the rightwing president of Panama has taken all the heat he has taken on the Hurtado asylum is that the U.S./CIA was leaning on him. He is in serious political trouble because of it. Why did he do it? Could be because his pal Uribe sent some death threats his way or he is a "made man" himself in Uribe's (the Bush Cartel's?) criminal operations in Latin America. But I think it was Panetta, covering Jr's trail.

It may also illuminate why the CIA (Bush Sr pal Leon Panetta, member of Bush Sr's "Iraq Study Group&quot landed Uribe on a silk cushion, when Panetta--as his first visible act as CIA Director--visited Bogota and yanked Uribe from the political stage. One of Panetta's assigned tasks seems to be covering up Jr's criminal trail.

Finally, it may illuminate Bush Sr's unscheduled visit this week to Barack Obama, which the White House kept secret. (After the meeting, which included Jeb, the WH released a "photo op" type photo, probably because somebody was going to leak the meeting. Their first instinct was SECRECY!) Things may be getting a bit "hot" for Bush Junta principles in Colombia. And I am convinced that Obama made a deal with Bush Sr not to investigate/prosecute Jr and his Junta, with the corollary of protection in all venues (such as Colombia). I think that that deal was the end result of a series of events that involved Rumsfeld being ousted from the Pentagon (circa 2006), I believe by intervention of Bush Sr and his ISG member Panetta and others ("old CIA&quot and U.S. military brass, to stop the Rumsfeld/Cheney plan to nuke Iran, to end the war between the Pentagon and the CIA that Rumsfeld/Cheney had instigated and to rescue Jr from CIA retaliation for the CIA outings. The only way to accomplish these things was to promise Cheney and Rumsfeld immunity, and that would have to be agreed to by the next president. Candidate Obama agreed and was perhaps the most enthusiastic about it and was then permitted to be elected. (With Diebold/ES&S, they have that power.)

So-o-o-o, Bush Sr's surprise visit to Obama this week may have been a necessary face to face on "the deal" (in view of developments in Colombia--i.e., Obama's obligation to protect Jr and others from prosecution) and may also have been about Iran. I think Bush Sr wants Iran's oil without too much mess (inconvenience to the corporate oil monsters and to transglobal interests in China). If I am right about his earlier intervention against Rumsfeld-Cheney on Iran, one of his reasons may have been a threat from China to come into it, on Iran's side.--that is, the threat of a nuclear stand-off or even nuclear armageddon. In visiting Obama, Bush Sr may have been acting the big mafia boss that he is by keeping things (truly mindboggling corporate crime) quiet and smooth-running, with Jeb tagging along to see how these things are done.
