US ITC says Apple infringes Samsung patent, bans some products

Apple infringed upon a patent owned by South Korea's Samsung Electronics in making some iPhone and iPad models, the U.S. International Trade Commission said in a final decision issued on Tuesday.

The panel issued a limited exclusion order and a cease-and-desist order for AT&T models of the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 3G and iPad 2 3G.

All exclusion orders are sent to President Barack Obama, who has 60 days to review them. If he does not veto the order, it goes into effect.

1. I'm not sure they even still sell any of those models

I'm pretty sure that nobody sells the original iPads and iPhone 3GS anymore.

4. The iPhone 4 is still being sold

Although they're only 99 cents at AT&T, so Apple probably isn't making a hell of lot of money from them, anyway. (They're actually free through Verizon with a 2-year contract.)

Best for them to come to settlement and call it an even trade.

5. LOL! This patent is worth very little. At last count, Samsung will be paying Apple billions.

Half a billion of which is coming due very shortly.

And once Apple is done with Samsung, Google will be next. The Apple v. Samsung suits is just practice before they go after the world's biggest ad spammer.
