Davis Says Voting Documents Altered After Filibuster

Source: Houston Chronicle

Sen. Wendy Davis told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that a fellow senator was informed by a Capitol staff member that the official voting documents had been purposefully changed to falsify the time of the vote on SB 5, the bill killed in her dramatic Tuesday night filibuster.

The discovery was important, she said, because had the vote been stamped on 6/25, rather than 6/26, the bill would have passed.

“We know it was purposeful,” she said. “I think there will be further investigation.”

This has the potential to be a huge story and really deserves some widespread attention. There is clear evidence of government tampering. While everyone who watched the proceedings last night know Republicans did everything they can to break laws of parliamentary procedure, this is definitive evidence of an attempt to commit fraud and tamper with government documents.

If not for the information age we live in, there's no way this could have been caught or prevented.

Abbott is set on running for Governor, possibly challenging Governor Goodhair in the primary. He's got strong approval numbers (and as tough as this may be to comprehend, actually scares me more than Perry in the Governor's chair).

All that is to say, there's no way Abbott does anything to piss off the GOP unless it will directly benefit his attempt to become Governor.

The Travis County Public Integrity Unit can take the lead on this type of investigation. Although that may be a little difficult since the bill to fund the TCPIU was vetoed by Governor Goodhair.

Hopefully, like they did last night, the people make sure a proper investigation takes place.

The first owe allegiance to God Almighty the second to the Almighty Dollar. And neither group believes in following the Constitution of Texas or the USA. They have a different game plan.

So their swearing an oath to get in office was just a ruse to bring in the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of the Koch brothers. I know that sounds harsh, but people do things for their own reasons and that's my opinion of all the GOP brands.

An example of how their religion has gone from being about peace or justice and now is just about power:

"Dewhurst first said the vote on SB5 was taken at 11:59 pm. However, the computerize time stamp said 12:02 am. How do you resolve that? Well, Darlin’, you simply change the time stamp to say what you want it to say. In other words, you commit the felony offense of tampering with a government document. That is what Dewhurst did."

They got caught and that is why they went into the meeting to hash out what to do. They decided to accept the time shown so no one would investigate them. They knew Perry would call a another session so they could vote again. The only way this won't pass is for the legislators to have had the pants scared off them. I am not hopeful, I think the anti-abortion laws will be passed in next week's session. Royce West is my state senator and he was with Wendy all the way.

We spoke with her on several different occasions and she would seek us out and shook our hands with enthusiasm and joy. God, I miss her. She was a sweetheart, a warm, good hearted woman like Davis.

He was Republican Party (GOP) House Majority Leader from 2003 to 2005, when he resigned because of felony money laundering charges in connection with a campaign finance investigation. He was convicted in January 2011 and sentenced to three years in prison but is free on bail while appealing his conviction.

As a convicted felon DeLay will not be eligible to run for public office in Texas nor would he be able to vote in Texas until he completes any sentence, including probation and parole.[63]

Sen. Dan Patrick (R-Houston), who authored the infamous pre-abortion sonogram bill in 2011, wasn’t so thrilled with the outburst from the gallery that halted the vote. “It was inappropriate,” he said. “It was a shame.” Asked if he was blaming the crowd, Patrick said, “We shouldn’t have been here on the last day of a 30-day session.”

They really are dead men walking are they not. They are dead inside, they just have not had the sense to drop to the ground. A quote last night~

I've been talking for awhile now about how what we're witnessing is the white male patriarchy in its death throes. Yesterday 5 Justices on the Supreme Court were the latest to lash out when they basically issued a ruling that guts the Voting Rights Act.

And so the dying beast is lashing out.

Van De Putte Says Republicans Changed Time Stamp On SB 5 Voting Record

Sen. Leticia Van De Putte, D-San Antonio, said Republicans in the Senate, including the lieutenant governor, asked clerks to make a last-minute change when a vote was taken on SB 5, the senate's abortion bill.

View both versions of the Senate voting record below.

Van De Putte said the Texas Legislative Library first showed that the bill had passed on 6/26/13 with a time stamp of 12:03 a.m. About 15 minutes later the clerks were told that they needed to change it to the 25th.
