Syria Crisis: Rebel Groups "Execute Rivals"

Source: BBC

Thirty-four foreign jihadists have been singled out by rival Syrian rebels and killed, say UK-based activists. It happened over the past three days in Jabal al-Zawiya, north-western Idlib province, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Meanwhile, activists in Aleppo city told the BBC militants from one of the same jihadi groups, ISIS, had summarily executed at least 50 captives.

The al-Qaeda-linked ISIS - Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant - is accused by other rebel groups of undermining the struggle against the regime of President Assad, focusing on accumulating territory and imposing a rule of terror in the areas it controls.

Most of the 34 reported dead in Jabal al-Zawiya were ISIS fighters, with the remainder from a smaller allied group called Jund al-Aqsa, the Observatory said. The execution of the "non-Syrian" fighters had been confirmed by medical and local sources, it said.

They're making gains in Iraq (for now), but it's funny (?--probably wrong word) how quickly their front in Syria is falling apart.

Recently some of the foreign fighters (Chechens mainly) flatly refused to offer an oath of submission to ISIS Amir Baghdadi, after a portion of the fighters actually did so last year--they've since split back off and are running to an-Nusrah for 'protection' (for precisely the reasons in this above news article). An-Nusrah are actually considered the "moderates" that are mediating this ongoing dispute between ISIS and the other (Saudi-run) fighting groups.

Actually, this is expected. A bunch of zealots tried to hijack the revolution.

When the Taliban fell the "Northern Alliance" beat the hell out of the foreign fighters that were coming in from Pakistan.

Of course, they were beating each other up too. This led to semi-comical episodes of a warlord telling our troops the rival warlord over the hill was the enemy in the hopes that we would wipe them out for them.

The dead rebels? The one's doing the execution? Remember when invading Syria was the most important thing in the world?

Way to go America, Kill! Kill!
