Pregnant woman among 3 shot on Chicago expressway after SUV breaks down

Source: NBC News

Three people were injured, including a pregnant woman, early Saturday morning after a gunman opened fire into an SUV that broke down along a Chicago expressway, officials said.

Illinois State Police said a 2008 Buick SUV broke down just before 1:30 a.m. on a southbound ramp to 71st Street off of Interstate 94.

While the Buick was waiting for help, a black Dodge Charger with orange stripes pulled up and began to shoot inside the Buick, police said.

The 27-year-old driver of the car was shot four times in his upper extremities while two female passengers in the car, one of them pregnant, were struck several times, police said.

A 19-year-old woman in the back of the car was shot six times in her lower body and a 24-year-old pregnant woman was shot three times in her lower body, police said.

It's still gun free.

Legal concealed carry is still 5 months away. But thank heaven for those gun bans here, they work so well.

Teen shot by robbers after handing over cellphone dies

A teen shot Thursday after handing over his cellphone to robbers has died, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said Saturday.

Kevin Baker, 19, was shot in the head and abdomen Thursday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood while heading home from classes at Harold Washington College, his family said earlier this week. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, officials said.

He was pronounced dead at Christ at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, the medical examiner's office said, and an autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning.

It is not going to happen. Britiian is not going to happen. Canada is not going to happen.

None of them are going to happen so why are you wasting your time, you might as well dream of unicorns shitting skittles.

...America will begin to deal with the overabundance of guns.

I shudder to think of what "enough" means in this context. Enough to overcome the culture's faux-macho worship of the gun as an extension of the white man's penis and a tool for fake liberty, I guess, and that's a hell of a lot of violence.

The same Japan that gives a defendant no right to counsel?
The same Japan that gives police the right to search anything, anywhere, anytime without a warrant?
That Japan?

Your dream of America ever becoming like Japan concerning firearms is just that, a dream.

Wow, I didn't know pompous ignorance of reality was a proud progressive value for some.

No Indiana FFL will sell you a gun unless it's transferred to an Illinois FFL. Same form 4473, same Illinois waiting period. Or perhaps you can give us some examples of FFLs that do that in Indiana?

You make it sound like you just walk in throw your money on the Indiana counter and walk out with a gun. That's just fucking stupid.

Or are you talking about buying a gun illegally? Hell, why go to Indiana, they can do that on any street corner, or rent one for a day or two.

But feel free to come wander through our gun free city. It has all the laws you could want. No carry, no assault weapons, FOID cards, waiting periods, universal background checks.

It's a fucking paradise with only 508 people, many under 18, killed last year doing it your way.

He was killed by a kid, a drug lookout, with a gun purchased locally. Yeah, I mean locally. As in just a few miles over the border in one of the nearby south suburbs.

During an investigation, it turned out a (I don't remember the numbers) large number of crimes (that could be traced back to a gun) were committed by people with guns purchased at a handful of LOCAL gun shops.

During undercover stings, the shops were busted knowingly selling guns to straw buyers. The straw buyers were often girlfriends of gang bangers.

So when some right wing douche bag calls Chicago a "gun free zone" - you will know the rest of the story.

when you can print them out at home.

As a nation we need to do a much better job of ensuring young people and needy families have a purpose and a means in life so they don't join gangs in the first place.

We need to be willing to take care of the root cause.
