Baghdad bomb blasts kill 26, Iraqi troops fight Sunni rebels

Source: Reuters

BAGHDAD Mon Jan 20, 2014 8:12am EST

(Reuters) - Seven bomb explosions killed 26 people and wounded 67 in the Iraqi capital on Monday, police and medics said, as security forces battled Sunni Muslim militants around the western cities of Falluja and Ramadi.

The bloodiest attack occurred in the mainly Shi'ite Muslim Abu Dsheer district in southern Baghdad, where a car bomb near a crowded market killed seven people and wounded 18.

No group claimed responsibility for the blasts. But Sunni insurgents, some of them linked to al Qaeda, are widely blamed for a surge in violence in the past year apparently aimed at undermining the Shi'ite-led government and provoking a return to all-out sectarian strife.

Five of Monday's bombs targeted mainly Shi'ite districts of the capital, while two were in mostly Sunni areas.

at President Obama--the guy who thought Iraq was a bad idea and oversaw the end of it. Bush and Cheney will never get the pitchforks (and jail cells) they deserve.

... of which were tasked to cherry pick the information and data so as to create a case
for a war in Iraq but in reality the W and company ordered the weapons inspectors, who
had not found anything, out of the country so they could start the war they had been wanting
and planning for years.

If the Iraqi war does not fall under the category of war crimes I don't know what would.
