gathered people who would have coffee and doughnuts in their home, and began to build their effort.

And they won elections doing it. Nothing new, just plain old organizing, Saul Alinsky style. Turns out evil can organize as well as anyone, especially where their competition is ignoring their effort.

My comment about ALEC becoming community organizers was an allusion to their disdain for the former community organization ACORN and for the President. That is, they are becoming what they profess to hate. Back-handed and subtle, perhaps too much so. It was in no way a compliment to the organization.

They also write vote-ready right-wing NRA-sponsored SYG and CCW laws for their bought-and-paid-for politicians to railroad through a sham legislative process at all levels of government, and it's all paid for by the Koch Brothers.
