It may have been an accidental or intentional overdose of a controlled substance. That's a wild ass guess with no 'evidence' on my part, but very often people with addiction issues become cheerleaders for others with the same problems, and he was doing drug counselling work at the time of his death.

Then again, it could be something else entirely.

I think I might be right, though....see this article:

The youngest son of former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine - described as a "lost" soul who battled addiction - was found dead in a Mexico City hotel through a search initiated by his family, a well-placed source told the Daily News.
Jeffrey Corzine, 31, whose body was found in Mexico's largest metropolis "several days ago," had failed to respond to messages from his loved ones, the source said. The family launched a search that tracked him down by following his credit card usage, the source added.
It wasn't clear how the aspiring photographer died or the exact date, but the source confirmed that Jeffrey had long struggled with drugs and alcohol.

I'm sure we'll soon find out. Regardless, I can't think of a greater pain that a parent can suffer than losing a child.

You can shake your fist at a random accident, but when it's self-inflicted, even accidentally, the old "What If" and "If Only I..." trains pull into the station. It's easy to tell folks "There, there, it's not your fault," but it's harder for them to believe it.

Sucks.

The youngest son of former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine has died, a spokesman for the ex-politician said Thursday.

Jeffrey Corzine, the youngest of the former governor’s three children, was only 31 when he was found dead, Jon Corzine’s personal spokesman Steven Goldberg told The News.

“Mr. Corzine is obviously devastated by this tragic loss,” Goldberg said. “We ask that all respect his family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

While details surrounding his death weren't immediately available, a source with ties to the youngest Corzine told The News that Jeffrey Corzine had struggled with drugs and alcohol in the past, but was believed to be sober.

I wonder if he had a relapse and overdosed.

Drug addiction is a disease which I hope can be cured sometime in the future. He must have been a caring person, if he was willing to work with others who were suffering with it.
Sounds like he tried to fight it.

'He made the tragic decision to take his own life': Youngest son of former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine commits suicide in Mexico City hotel

Former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine's 31-year-old son, Jeffrey, - who struggled with drug and alcohol addiction - committed suicide at a Mexico City hotel this week, a person familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

Jeffrey Corzine had been living in Malibu, California, and was an aspiring photographer, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity and could not name the hotel.

Corzine family spokesman Steven Goldberg confirmed Jeffrey Corzine's death in a written statement.
