Manufacturing Production in U.S. Rises by Most in Six Months

Source: Bloomberg

By Lorraine Woellert Mar 17, 2014 9:36 AM ET

Factory production in the U.S. rose in February by the most in six months, indicating the industry started to recover from severe winter weather.

The 0.8 percent gain at manufacturers followed a revised 0.9 percent slump in the prior month that was the biggest since May 2009, figures from the Federal Reserve in Washington showed today. The median forecast called for a 0.3 percent advance. Total industrial production rose 0.6 percent, more than projected.

The advance shows output began to pick up after snowstorms in the eastern U.S. prevented some factories from receiving parts and materials in January. Stronger demand from consumers and companies would help bolster manufacturers, which are faced with a build-up in inventories.

“Once the weather effects have rolled off, underlying demand is better than expected,” said Gennadiy Goldberg, a strategist at TD Securities USA LLC in New York, whose forecast for a 0.5 percent increase in factory output was among the highest in the Bloomberg survey. “The market got a little too pessimistic.”

Stuffing their channels with vehicles (this counts as production, build cars, stuff channels by sending it to some dealers parking lot to sit and count it as a sell) and by redefining what "manufacturing" is, all this is nothing but utter bullshit.

Our manufacturing is down nearly 40% since the 1980's, all we are doing is playing with numbers, manipulate the numbers enough and you can put out whatever good news you want to put out.

It's time to throw all the fuckers out, from both sides of the political isles.

Distractions, smoke and mirrors, manipulation of the numbers....utter bullshit. And the bad thing about it is that at least 80% of our society are either ignorant to what is going on, intentionally turn a blind eye, or could care less.

Tarp, ZIRP, QE, "shovel ready", ACA...is all bullshit none of these plans were implemented to help the little guy, all of it was to help the 1%.....Oh, and did I already say "Fuck um all"...if not let me repeat...FUCK UM ALL.

EDIT: Oh, and the "weather"....yeah, it's like it's the first time ever we have had bad weather in the North in January....so what about those shitty numbers in the south? Oh it hit 50 degrees in Florida, S Texas, S Cali, etc and that is why their numbers are bad? Weather really....go look at sales numbers for items that the wealthy purchase....those numbers are up despite the bad weather. Go look at million dollar properties, high dollar vehicles, etc and those numbers are "up" despite the bad weather across the board.

They are in essence pissing down the back of our necks, telling us that it's raining and that everything looks good and the drought is over.
