Obama announces more sanctions against Russian officials, others

Source: Washington Post

President Obama moved to impose “additional costs” on Russia over their annexation of Crimea, imposing sanctions on more senior officials in the Russian government, on other individuals who support the Russian government, and a bank that provides material support to these individuals. Obama also signed a new executive order that gives the United States the authority to impose sanctions on key sectors of the Russian economy if deemed necessary in the future.

"Nations do not redraw borders... simply because they are larger and more powerful," Obama said.

a cabal of crooked politicians made up stories about "weapons of mass destruction" and terrorist zealots on every streetcorner. Time to tone this down, or has DOD already called back the new nuke designer team. Note that Israel has said nothing of importance about Crimea.

Sounds like a re-make from WW2. Alas, Ukraine will probably be a stronger economic country with many countries helping them. Ukraine will probably become a part of Nato. I read where Russians are making fun of the Ukraine, USA and EU citing they got the "rump" of Ukraine, the laugh will be on Russia and its a shame the whole reasoning of a military state of Crimea will keep its territory as well as Russia on a paranoid state of existence. I feel no pain for them.

Sanctions will work, if they are placed on the appropriate people. The world should be sanctioning the new class of the wealthy in Russia. The new young blood rich, that are making gazillions in the open markets of the world, trading currency, oil and other thing.... put a hurt on their bank accounts, pull their cashflow off the market and see how fast they run to...or away from Putin. The US and other gas and oil producing countries now need to flood the Europe market with natural gas and oil and reduce Russia to a blabbering piece of crap police state, (that the Crimean people will soon find out), and isolate them back into the stone ages.

They will start supplying gas and oil and other trade to them. Also Russia's economy has always been in a funk. They spend more on there military than the economy and it's gotten to a point where the people are used to it.Also don't forget they get oil from Iraq. And they get money from supplying arms to other countries.

All of them are criminals anyway.

Russia is nothing more than a black market with nukes.

Take a close look at Google. They sell their user's data to Russian crime syndicates with alarming regularity.
