Omaha company first in U.S. to sell 'fun' electric car for those in wheelchairs
Source: Omaha World Herald
Cyndi Barry didn't need to lower a wheelchair lift or transfer from her wheelchair into a car's seat before she drove away from the curb.
Using a key fob, she popped open the little car's hatchback and rolled her wheelchair up the short ramp. With the chair locked in place, Barry pushed a button to close the hatchback, buckled up and turned the key. The electric Chairiot Solo silently pulled out of its parking space, and Barry was off. She got it up to 30 mph.
Afterward, Barry, 49, said she was impressed.
It is pretty fun, she said. I would use it to go to Target, I would use it to go to the doctor's. ... Back in my teens and 20s, I would have loved to have something like that.

Even though it is made in China, I won't say don't buy it. If you need one, I'm ok with it. This will mean a lot to many users.
