Car trailing Obama daughters' motorcade prompts White House lockdown

Source: Reuters

A car that trailed a motorcade carrying President Barack Obama's daughters on to Pennsylvania Avenue prompted a security lockdown at the White House on Tuesday.

A Secret Service spokesman said the car entered the security checkpoint at 17th Street and Pennsylvania and was immediately stopped by Secret Service uniformed officers.

The male driver was arrested and Washington police checked the car for explosives.

The Secret Service identified the driver as Mathew Evan Goldstein, 55. He was arrested and charged with unlawful entry and was transported to city police for processing.

have all given me a true understanding of the vile nature of racist, teahadists and rethugs that are the underbelly of amerikkkan culture. Oh never mind those are one in the same vile meanness that represents amerikan culture after(and before) the election of an AA POTUS. Democrazy.

That's an odd coincidence. Also. the charge, unlawful entry, seems to have at least two definitions. Under civilian law "...unlawful or illegal entry upon lands or structures without force but by means of fraud or other willful wrong." Under military law, the definition relates to entering a property for the purpose of harming the image of the armed forces.
I wonder which applies to the Goldstein guy.

what is the coincidence? What is the relationship between this guy and Israel spying, and the armed forces?

But...
The man has a Jewish last name - Goldstein, the charge of unlawful entry makes little sense because it sounds like he was on a public road, the military charge of unlawful entry has a much broader scope, there was an article in Newsweek about Israeli spying crossing a red line and the Obama administration has had a less-than-cozy relationship with Israel.
It just seemed oddly coincidental. Finally, I haven;t seen an update on the story, which is odd.

of either an out of towner or just a local curiosity seeker following an impressive fleet of vehicles and not noticing it entering the closed portion of Pennsylvania Ave?
