GOP: We'll move immigration reform if we take back Senate

Source: The Hill

By Alexander Bolton - 05/15/14 06:00 AM EDT

Senate Republicans say they'll try to pass immigration reform legislation in the next two years if they take back the Senate in November.

The Republicans say winning back the Senate will allow them to pass a series of bills on their own terms that have a better chance of winning approval in the House.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a central member of the coalition that passed a comprehensive reform bill in the Senate last year, said he would craft a better legislative approach if Republicans control the upper chamber in 2015.

That would give his party a chance to pass immigration legislation before the presidential election, when Hispanic voters will be crucial to winning the White House.

They think they are so smart....

Tell the Hispanics if they just give them control of the Senate (and understood continued control of the House) we will pass immigration reform.

First of all I'm not sure if even then Boehner or whoever is Speaker would take up the bill in the House for a vote. But assuming he did....

I suspect the bill will look something like this...

1. Build a fence/wall including shoving metal and concrete bunkers down 200 feet all along the border. Electrify it and shoot anyone seen to be breaching over or under the fence. Once this has been in place for 25 years....

2. Anyone who speaks perfect English with no accent can apply to be allowed to be sent back to his/her country and apply for immigration behind all of the others in his/her country

3. Massive sweeps across the country for mass deportations

4. Give all deportees a little keychain with an American flag on it as a moment

They're directly saying that nothing important will get done in our national government unless they are running the whole thing and get to implement their entire, unedited, uncompromised agenda.

This disqualifies them from governing, in my opinion.

Ahem...Rubio voted AGAINST the immigration bill. He was booed at a neo-con speaking engagement when he brought up immigration and then went into hiding for a few months. He was hardly "a central member of the coalition that PASSED..." He wasn't a part of anything that passed that bill. Gosh, more shilling from the right wing media.
