On Saturday, the Brownsville Herald reported that a coalition of "Patriot" groups has put out a call for supporters to go to the Texas-Mexico border for an operation called "Secure our Border- Laredo."

According to spokeswoman Denice Freeman, the operation is a call for civilian militia members -- both armed and unarmed -- to guard private property in Texas locations like Laredo where owners feel threatened by “drug cartels and from gangs, particularly the MS-13 gangs,” a Salvadoran-based gang considered among the most dangerous in the country by law enforcement.

Freeman also said militia members will become more visible in border communities over the coming days. She also said the group's commander, Chip Davis, is warning members against using violent means.

"This is not a ‘go-in-guns-blazing’ kind of thing,” Freeman said. “This will be handled with the utmost professionalism and security and safety for everyone involved.”

But Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said he doesn't want the militia in the Rio Grande Valley.

The good is, the American people will finally realize the Founding Fathers did NOT intend for private citizens to start a war with a foreign country when they wrote the Second Amendment, and some of the excesses of the teabagger movement will be legislatively reeled in - starting with a ban on assault rifles they can't get their rifles around.

It's not like these guys are retired special forces, you know.

Usually, only a few show up and not all are armed.
