Court Rules for Gay Marriage in Oklahoma Case

Source: ABC News and AP

A federal appeals court on Friday ruled Oklahoma must allow gay couples to wed, marking the second time it has found the U.S. Constitution protects same-sex marriage.

The decision from a three-judge panel in Denver upholds rulings that struck down Oklahoma's gay marriage ban.

a few months ago when he told me that gay marriage offended his beliefs. After a few minutes of arguing I summed it by telling him he was a narrow-minded bigot. Have not seen much of him since, he quit playing golf with us right after that and did not even come to his own wife's (my sister) family birthday party, pretending to be sick. The truth is I think they would have split by now if they did not have a kid as my sister is starting to see what happens when good people marry republicans.

But I will be seeing him on Sunday and I shall not gloat but I must prepare the appropriate dig. Or maybe I will just use yours and tell him to suck it.

The first decision came down for marriage in Utah; the second -- from the same appeals court -- concerned gay marriage in Oklahoma.

At least that's the way I understand it.

In January there was an initial ruling striking down Oklahoma's ban just as in December there was an initial ruling striking down Utah's ban.

Last month the Utah ruling was upheld and now the Oklahoma ruling too. Unfortunately both rulings are stayed until the supreme court gets off its mighty ass and decides this once and for all.

And god help the SC if they make another Dred Scott decision.
