GOP renews funding fight against Planned Parenthood
Source: The Hill
More than 80 House Republicans are again seeking to block federal funding for abortion providers like Planned Parenthood, saying they want to defund "the big abortion industry. "Planned Parenthood and organizations like it that profit off the destruction of innocent life do not deserve one more dime from American taxpayers, Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) wrote in a release Thursday after reintroducing the bill.
Black, who spent 40 years as a nurse, said her legislation would "clarify the original intent and spirit of the law that prevents federal dollars from being used in abortions. The bill targets a funding program called Title X family planning grants, which give money for services ranging from infertility counseling to STD testing. Planned Parenthood is the countrys largest recipient of the grants.
Providers are already prohibited from using federal money to fund abortions, but the GOP lawmakers argue that the rules should be more strict.
Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), co-chairman of the Pro-Life Caucus, said the federal government should not be supporting Planned Parenthood at all, describing the nonprofit as Child Abuse, Incorporated.
The federal government should not be subsidizing the largest abortion chain in America, Planned Parenthood, Smith said.

Why do they keep yapping about federal funds being used for abortion? Hasn't this been prohibited for quite some time now?

Here's some of the the propaganda article from Life News about it.
They make you believe that 94% of their activity is abortion yet in reality only 3% is. They must be including IUDs and other BC that they claim are abortions, yet scientifically are NOT.
Some other takeaways from Planned Parenthoods own figures:
In 2013, abortions made up 94% of Planned Parenthoods pregnancy services.
For every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performed 174 abortions.
While abortions rose, Planned Parenthood adoption referrals dropped 14% in one year, and prenatal care services dropped 4%.
Planned Parenthoods cancer prevention services are down 17% over one year, and contraceptive services dropped by 4%.
During fiscal year 2013-2014, Planned Parenthood received more than $528 million in taxpayer funding, or more than $1.4 million per day, in the form of government grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements.
Taxpayer funding accounts for 41% of Planned Parenthoods overall revenue.
Planned Parenthood reported more than $127 million in excess revenue, and more than $1.4 billion in net assets.

I have to wonder whether Rep. Diane Black is descended from any animal as intellegent as an ape.
