Keystone XL foes lobby Rep. Ashford, a project backer, in attempt to sway his vote

WASHINGTON — Opponents of the Keystone XL pipeline are letting Rep. Brad Ashford hear it.

The just-sworn-in Democrat from Omaha told The World-Herald earlier this week that he would support GOP-authored legislation to force authorization of the politically charged project when the bill comes up on the House floor Friday.

Jane Kleeb of the anti-pipeline group Bold Nebraska met with Ashford Thursday morning in an effort to change his mind.

“We’re going to do everything we can to ensure that Representative Ashford votes against the bill,” Kleeb said after the meeting.

I voted for Jane's husband Scott for US Senate several years ago. Oh how I wish he had won.
