David Cameron 'sorted' my US visa problem, says boxer Amir Khan

Boxer says he told his "good friend" the Prime Minister he had "a bit of a problem" obtaining a US visa

Of all the people to have on speed dial, the Prime Minister may be one of the best to help out in a tight spot.

That certainly proved to be the case for champion boxer Amir Khan, who has revealed how he called David Cameron when he was refused a visa to travel to the US on September 11 last year.

The Bolton-born fighter, who recently visited the site of a school massacre in Peshawar, Pakistan, was due to commentate on US television on a boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana, but was told he could not fly.
