Several Stabbed On Bus In Tel Aviv, Israel

Source: Russia Today/Haaretz

Several Israelis have reportedly been wounded in a stabbing attack on a Tel Aviv bus on Wednesday morning. The assailant was shot by Israeli police, Haaretz reported.

Five people were stabbed by a passenger on a Dan Line 40 bus on Begin Road in Tel Aviv near the Maariv Bridge, according to Ynetnews website. Two of the victims are in critical condition, while the other three are satisfactory. They were taken to the Ichilov Medical Center.

According to Magen David Adom emergency services, the two injured, who are in a fair condition, were evacuated to Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital, and one of the passengers was taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital.

According to an eye-witness report, the driver was the first victim of the attacker, so he was unable to open the doors of the bus, which was full during the rush hour. It was one of the passengers who managed to open the doors and let the frightened people out, i24news TV-channel reported.

1. Netanyahu: Paris, Brussels, Tel Aviv – all victims of same terror
Wed Jan 21, 2015, 05:43 AM
Jan 2015

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attack was part of a larger threat posed by Islamic jihadists, saying "it’s the same type of terror that hurt us in Paris, Brussels and everywhere." However, Netanyahu blamed the attack on what he described as the "Palestinian Authority's incitement against Jews and their country."

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman followed Netayahu's lead, and blamed Arab leadership: "Those standing behind this attack are also those who stand behind the riots in Rahat (a Bedouin town which has been scene to violent riots) and also were behind the string of terror attacks in Jerusalem: Abu Mazen, (Hamas leader) Ismail Haniyeh, Raed Salah (head of the Islamic Movement's Northern Branch) and Hanin Zoabi and Ahmed Tibi (two Israeli Arab MKs)."

The best chance for peace was ruined by a right wing Israeli extremist murdering Yitzhak Rabin. I remember when it happened because we had a minute of silence in Hebrew school. I didn't appreciate at the time the significance of it, but as I've gotten older - that single assassination has led to so much violence and bloodshed.

Jan 2015

Hamas has praised the attack on Israelis on a Tel Aviv bus on Wednesday, in which at least nine people were stabbed by a Palestinian, and which is being called a 'terror attack' by Israeli police.

Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas' political bureau, called the attack a "bold, heroic act", according to Haaretz.

"The attack carried out this morning is a bold, heroic act and a natural response to the crimes of the occupation and terrorism against the Palestinian people," he said.

terrorist hamas cleaned up in that vote:

RAMALLAH, West Bank, Jan. 26 -- The radical Islamic movement Hamas won a large majority in the new Palestinian parliament, according to official election results announced Thursday, trouncing the governing Fatah party in a contest that could dramatically reshape the Palestinians' relations with Israel and the rest of the world.

Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia, another Fatah leader, resigned his post along with his cabinet early Thursday, as reports of Hamas's victory began to circulate. Although the cabinet would have been required to step aside even if Fatah had retained its majority, Qureia acknowledged in submitting his resignation that Hamas had earned the right to form the next cabinet.

"This is the choice of the people," Qureia, a member of the party's discredited old guard who did not run for reelection, told reporters here. "It should be respected."

you do realize that the election was held in both the West Bank and Gaza and that it was similar to the US mid-terms in that the President of the PLO/PA was elected a year earlier and guess what Hamas did not win that one

Hamas became the leaders of Gaza via a military coup 18 months after the Parliamentary elections

so tell us do you consider the Republicans to be the elected leaders of the US over the elected Democratic POTUS, because if not seems there is something of a double standard at work here to say Hamas was elected to by the people of Gaza to rule Gaza

comparing the US - where there is an election every two years come rain or shine - with Palestine where they STILL haven't had an election since - where there have been ZERO protests calling for an election. We've all seen the polls and seen how popular hamas is. If what you say is actually the truth - why aren't you and all the other pro-P folks SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS that hamas is so highly detrimental to the Gazans who are at the mercy of a terrorist organization that the US (and throw in the rest of the west while you're at it) should hold up aid until there is a vote. Why aren't you petitioning the President over this? No - it seems so much easier to trash Israel and order them to deal with those who you want to insist are there and are unwelcome. Not sure who you think you're fooling here.

how the Palestinians are the poor pathetic victims of hamas. You may want to look at this poll first:

The poll, conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PCPSR) among a sample of 1,270 adults in person in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between August 26-30, 2014, indicates that 79 percent of Palestinians believe Hamas won the war, 94 percent are satisfied with its military performance against Israel and a majority — 53 percent – believes that armed confrontation is the most effective means for establishing a Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel.

Eighty-six percent of Palestinians support launching of rockets from Gaza if the siege and blockade are not ended, according to the poll. Half of those polled believe that launching rockets from populated areas is unjustified, but that number increases to 59 percent among Gazans; only 38 percent of those polled in the West Bank believe it is unjustified.

http://972mag.com/post-gaza-war-poll-hamas-haniyeh-and-rockets-popularity-at-all-time-high/96243/

If they're so unpopular - why do 86% of the population support their tactics?
