Senate Republicans Remove 'Civil Rights And Human Rights' From Subcommittee Name

Source: Huffington Post

WASHINGTON -- Senate Republicans revealed this week that they have eliminated the phrase “civil rights and human rights” from the title of a Senate Judiciary subcommittee charged with overseeing those issues.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) became chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee this month and announced the members of the six subcommittees this week. With Grassley’s announcement, the subcommittee formerly known as the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Human Rights suddenly became the Subcommittee on the Constitution.

The new chairman of the newly named subcommittee is Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas). His office confirmed that it made the switch.

“We changed the name because the Constitution covers our most basic rights, including civil and human rights,” said Cornyn spokeswoman Megan Mitchell. “We will focus on these rights, along with other issues that fall under the broader umbrella of the Constitution.”

It is required they lie about an open amendment process then pull out the rug, the media will do covering action and lay down some smoke, some deflated balls will have to do the trick.

There will never be equality or social justice, especially for the most oppressed among us, under this destructive capitalist system.

One day, it's gonna fall, and it won't land gently.

few years. Their members can look foreword to some quality tee times and goofing off in their capital hidey holes with cocktails and cronies. I expect this new Senate to be about as effective in governance as the past House was.

The republican party in Germany is also conservative and anti immigration. Unlike the American Republican party, they don't want to be associated with right wing nuts.

Noticed how in this century we've adopted backdrops of several US flags instead of the one that used to be considered sufficient? Reminds me of the multiple flags seen at fascist rallies. As our leaders become more committed to destroying the Republic, they push the symbols harder and harder.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
