Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Backing Down From Food Stamp Fight

Source: HUFFPOST

WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) had previously said he wanted to fight the Obama administration over drug tests for food stamp recipients, but it turns out Walker would prefer to ask nicely.

A Walker spokeswoman said that instead of just imposing the drug tests, the governor's forthcoming budget proposal will seek permission to do so.

"The budget will include language requesting waivers from the federal government to test all able-bodied adults without dependents on FoodShare, as well as all childless adults on Medicaid," Walker spokeswoman Laurel Patrick said in an email Sunday.

Wisconsin would need a waiver because federal law bars states from adding new eligibility requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (known in Wisconsin as FoodShare), though states have some leeway to add drug screening to other programs. Last year, Walker suggested he wanted food stamp drug tests even if federal law disallowed the policy, saying he would take the fight to the courts.

Think of the hell for elderly and disabled 'childless adults on Medicaid' who can barely go anywhere to submit to arbitrary and dehumanizing series of tests. Any such tests should be ordered by the doctors already treating them, not Walker's brownshirts. Expect a barrage of propaganda against all the poors until he gets his way. Just another GOP Death Panel in place. They sure are in a hurry to kill off a lot of people for their lovely new world.

and every single member of Congress was required to submit to a drug and alcohol test before they were allowed to assume their elected office? I mean most new hires in every level must submit to a drug screen.
Skilled tradesman must submit, so why not our members of State Houses, including Governors, and newly Congressional members.
Also random testing should be if force.
What would happen to all these jokesters that want these drug tests for needy Americans?

Walker is an embarrassment to Wisconsin and America. He's a wormy little racist shit straight out of the Richard Nixon mold. I wouldn't trust him to watch my pet, let alone my state government. He'll go far in Republican politics. He fits right in with Cheney, Paul, Cruz, Perry, Rubio and all the Bush criminals.
