Three security guards of a luxury hotel in Libya's capital Tripoli have been killed as five gunmen stormed the building.

It is believed that the gunmen also took some people hostage, security officials told AP.

The Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli's old city, which is popular with foreigners, was also the target of a car bomb blast.

The attack is the latest in a series of car bombs and shootings.
