Hillary is receiving more than campaign contributions from the Banks TOO BIG TO FAIL:
?1438290279The Swiss bank UBS is one of the biggest, most powerful financial institutions in the world. As secretary of state, Hillary Clinton intervened to help it out with the IRS. And after that, the Swiss bank paid Bill Clinton $1.5 million for speaking gigs.

(I am an advocate for knowing everything you can about all Democratic candidates for president. Thus, I want to know just how much Hillary "owes" big banks, and how much she's willing to give up to truly represent the Hoi Polloi. I, for one, am deeply concerned by her connections with these banks.
Also, this article was published in July, but it's still relevant.)

(2,262 posts)Corporatists protect other corporatists. But God love her supporters who will deny any of it, no matter how accurate it might be. They don't care. She needs to be the first female president come hell or high water.

I think all people are complex, and those who've been elected to the presidency are no less complex. Pappy Bush and Dubyah epitomized the worst of the worst during their tenures, but I was not impressed by Clinton either. Obama has been somewhat better, but still in bed with the corporate megalomaniacs (which makes me suspect that Bill Hicks was correct--funny, but correct).

(10,279 posts)then we all will go down the drain. I see only two options: 1. split the mega banks now into robust sizes, or 2. save their (and our) asses when the collapse occurs. "No, no, no, no, no" is not an option.

(8,267 posts)But, I think our nation could (and should) prosecute the criminal CEOs and CFOs of the "too big" banks, and restructure the banks down to reasonable sizes. Oh, and bring back Glass-Steagall.
But, to stay on topic: this is one issue involving Hillary that gives me pause. I won't vote for her because she's a woman, but I will "hold my nose" and vote for her if the party nominates her, ONLY because a Republican would be far worse.
And, I think THAT is a damned shame.

(84,711 posts)Once she is Elected...can we Expect ANY REAL CHANGE?
I think her supporters will just go along with whatever She and Bill think is the "corrected Legislation."
Because what then will be Left of the Left to Complain About??????....after we cave and give our Vote to Hillary/Bill because the alternative is so dreadful.......once again.
