Why is Paul Ryan endorsing Donald Trump?

By Michael A. Cohen
JUNE 02, 2016

... For decades, but particularly over the past eight years, Republican leaders have winked and nodded at the nativist, racist, misogynist, un-democratic elements that find residence on the political right. Now that a nativist, racist, misogynist, quasi- authoritarian is the presumptive Republican presidential standard bearer, it’s hardly a surprise that Ryan would accept reality and offer him his formal endorsement. That doesn’t make it any less awful.

Ryan is — like so many other elected Republican officials — putting his personal and political interests ahead of the national interest. Even if Trump loses in November, that decision should haunt Ryan and the Republican Party for generations to come.

not going to endorse the nominee. R's will fall in line because they want to recapture the White House. It's that simple.

It's a calculated endorsement. I'm sure he went over many scenarios before endorsing. I hope all the democratic leaders supports Clinton a lot.

Is to become Donald's VP pick. That way, when Donald quits (and I do think he will quit at some point) his VP will become President.
