<Trump himself has said during this cycle that wages are "too high." He said it in a November debate in response to a question about raising the minimum wage, then repeated the point the next day on MSNBC's Morning Joe. Since then, he has walked that comment back, telling Meet The Press' Chuck Todd in May, "I have seen what's going on. And I don't know how people make it on $7.25 an hour."
