As Trump Berates News Media, a New Strategy Is Needed to Cover Him.

'Well, that sure escalated quickly.

“That” was Donald J. Trump’s inaugural news conference as a duly elected United States president-to-be, in which he called BuzzFeed a “failing pile of garbage,” dismissed CNN as “fake news” and more or less told the whole lot of reporters at Trump Tower to stuff it when it comes to his unreleased tax returns because everyday Americans don’t care and, anyway, “I won.”

There were two big lessons in the Wednesday morning melee.

1. Mr. Trump remains a master media manipulator who used his first news briefing since July to expertly delegitimize the news media and make it the story rather than the chaotic swirl of ethical questions that engulf his transition.

2. The news media remains an unwitting accomplice in its own diminishment as it fails to get a handle on how to cover this new and wholly unprecedented president.

It better figure it out, fast, because it has found itself at the edge of the cliff. And our still-functioning (fingers crossed) democracy needs it to stay on the right side of the drop.'>>>

what the media means is, how can we cover this crap *while retaining our insane right-wing bias and a straight face*.

imagine if president-elect hillary put chelsea in charge of her charity and converted it to a for-profit business and let chelsea sit in on high-level political meetings.

imagine if president-elect hillary announced she would no longer release future taxes.

imagine if president-elect hillary appointed corrupt lobbyists, bigots, etc.

imagine if president-elect hillary had called on china to hack opposition servers, praised china's leadership, questioned our relationship with taiwan, etc.?

imagine if the cia leaked a dossier on hillary's secret sex life and suggested it was likely that china was attempting to blackmail her.

****SERIOUSLY, MEDIA****????? YOU SERIOUSLY HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA HOW YOU MIGHT COVER THAT?????

on what he and the federal government are doing....and how that will impact citizens in each individual state.

Don't give him a means of broadcasting his worldview.
Give us the real world view.

Much of the media are witting accomplices. Witness Leslie Monvess' comment that Trump may not be good for America, but he is great for CBS.

All about the advertising dollars and ratings.

Interesting to see how they react as things move along, as fact he's NOT good for America becomes more and more apparent, including reactions of beat reporters who deal with matters face to face, daily.

Should all get together at the next press conference and whoever gets called on ask the same question over and over until it is anwsered or he goes crazy. Then have a second one ready and so on.
