Trump's simplistic language is a bad sign

When the president was asked to explain his reversal on branding China a currency manipulator, Trump said, of President Xi Jinping, No. 1, hes not, since my time. You know, very specific formula. You would think its like generalities, its not. They havetheyve actuallytheir currencys gone up. So its a very, very specific formula. This response could count as an example of gross and pathological inattention or indifference to, or failure to understand the mandatory duties of the president mentioned in the 25th Amendment, Tribe said."

Theres some interesting research that has looked at the correlation between simple language and the tendency of U.S. presidents to behave in authoritarian ways, Sedivy said. There is a predictive relationship that speeches that are expressed using very simple basic language tend to precede very authoritarian acts like the use of executive orders That certainly plays out in the use of the heavy reliance on simple notions like amazing, sad, bad, unfair. These really strip away a lot of the complexities that are behind them. They reduce information into very gross impressions.

In the example cited (china/currency), 45 had not prepared or practiced a response for the question he was asked.
He could not afford to state his true motives for changing his position...
but did not have the 'alternative motivation' response ready to give.
Plus, he has no idea what currency manipulation is or how it works...
So, the result is an incoherent ramble made up of nothing more than gibberish....

I'm in the middle of watching GET ME ROGER STONE on Netflix, and that's sure as hell what it looks like.
As soon as I saw Roger Stone's name connected to Trump, I took his candidacy a lot more seriously. What I didn't know was Paul Manafort was a partner of Stone's.
Trump is like the Republican politicians elected as Tea Party candidates: not that different on the issues, but very different from other Republicans that they are so damn stupid they are willing to saw off the branch they are sitting on if the money people tell them to.
