Mitch McConnell Is the Real Evil One.

(Old and necessary.)

'This brings us to Mitch McConnell. I am not being hyperbolic when I say that Mitch McConnell is evil. The coming Trump Presidency is already an assembly line of shitty, apocalyptic consequences getting cranked out 24/7, and the fact that McConnell now holds near-total power over Congress is perhaps the most unbearable side effect of them all. Here is a man who made it his solemn oath to thwart a President who was elected fair and square—and by an actually huge, not-bullshit-Trump-YUGE, margin—and who then spent eight goddamn years doing exactly that. McConnell is a man who hijacked a Supreme Court vacancy and, barring some last-minute shenanigans that President Obama is probably (and unfortunately) too polite to pull, he will get away with it.

Now we find out that McConnell is basically a traitor. In the wake of an unprecedented breach in American cybersecurity, what did this guy do? He threatened the President that he would publicly discredit the (solid, non-partisan) intelligence just to fuck him, along with the American people. It worked, of course. Oh, and now McConnell's old lady has a Cabinet post. This man has no morals, nor any respect for the rule of law, nor any respect for those who would defy him. For his own personal gain, he permitted Russia to continue manipulating the November election so that his party's candidate could win—giving us a quivering mound of chili drippings for president. And God knows what kind of dirt Putin has on him.'>>>

that Putin will expose him as a homosexual? Who would be shocked at that? Nobody who has heard about his short term in the army, ending with a discharge for "questionable behavior in the showers" It only took 3 weeks for Mitch to reveal his true colors. After that, he wised up, married a "beard" and continued on. A few years ago one of his young male aides left to accept a job a few blocks away. While announcing the departure, Mitch shed tears.

Very few people would give a shit if he got shot. At least not normal, rational people. In fact, the majority would be glad but they wouldn't admit it. I don't care if I sound horrid. That ass is taking away my ACA and I am going to die in severe pain and my entire family will be in debt for years afterwards due to it! FUCK HIM (and his evil wife too).

what kind of people are running today's Republican Party, both officially and behind the scenes, is horrifying and frightening.

Note that they destroyed conservative thought as a political force because their grab of wealth and power requires enormous changes. Those changes are inimical to both the gut preferences of conservatives and the tenets of the new-born conservative political philosophy so earnestly crafted by right-wing intellectuals only 60 years ago.

Before that, conservatism was mostly only a knee-jerk opposition to change and other differences. It had no intellectual foundation, making the baby political philosophy easy to destroy. It lacks the centuries of intellectual development and practice that go into to modern liberalism.

“What is conservatism? Is it not the adherence to the old and tried against the new and untried?” Abraham Lincoln.

Unfortunately, no. That is the best of what conservatism had to offer, and it has been purged in this era.
