Rethinking democracy!

Instead of beating our heads against the same old wall ... let's rethink the problem of governance:

Old Paradigm:

"SOCIALISM" vs "CAPITALISM"

New Paradigm:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . econ . . . . . . econ . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . INFRASTRUCTURE . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . econ . . . . . . econ . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Infrastructure = soft + hard operating systems with democratic oversight and the US Constitution as the source code. A universal basic income would allow more children to join the economy on a more equal footing with their luckier neighbors.

econ = a people's economy. Free enterprise that allows small businesses to fluorish free of monopoly intrusion.

1. These are economic models, DemMouse. Not governance.

Neither are in conflict with democracy. Electorates in many nations have chosen various forms and combinations of economic systems.

And, please, let's NOT join our new ultraconservative plutocrats in "rethinking democracy." As they continue their conspiracy to transfer power from the electorate to them, and to impose their chosen economic system on us, our job is to save democracy.

Btw, if you meant to post an article, better do it fast, before this is locked.

2. I don't think you understand

I'm proposing a new way to think about democracy, operating systems, the US Constitution as national source code. Maybe this is way too Wired Magazine for this forum? I had assumed the "underground" in DU's name implied that new ways of thinking about things was welcome.

3. Reading your Journal, I am asking why you are pushing to change "Democracy"?

There's a creep factor in what you repeatedly propose.

My opinion.

5. Improving society is creepy???

Huh? Isn't changing the way we think about the human condition, and the nature of (small d) democracy, how progress happens? For example, giving the victor the control over gerrymandering (which lead to huge Republican abuses after 2010) means we need to rethink the geometry of districts. We once considered African Americans deserving of 2/3rds of a vote and we changed that after decades upon decades of rethinking the way our democracy was functioning. We need to rethink a lot of things to create "a more perfect union." Is that creepy?

Would you prefer to keep the capitalism vs socialism game going? Wouldn't it make sense to rethink how we frame the debate?

6. An example of rethinking democracy

Below is an example of how one might rethink democratic systems in the age of the internet. A professor at MIT, Joi Ito, talks about emergent democracy:

My center-out diagram of infrastructure supporting a people's economy is quite related.
