I keep handwritten notes and on Aug. 29th Rachel reported the story and I called the GOP members of the Senate Judiciary Committee the next two days. Some were on Summer Recess but I spoke with 11 Senators' staffers to release the transcripts. Grassley said he would release them at the time and I recall Lawrence O'Donnell also said to Rachel that night that Grassley would keep his word since he said he would to a constituent during a town hall on live TV that night. Rachel loved the guy that cornered Grassley. What the hell happened in the last 5 months to make Grassley change his mind regarding the release of the transcripts? Glenn Simpson's (Fusion GPS) attorney told the public that the Senate Committee was free to release the transcripts as far as he and his client were concerned. Even Hatch said he would vote to release the transcripts at the time and Lawrence believed him for some reason.
