The St. Petersburg Times performed a search of Florida newspapers and turned up 93 cases in which the law could have been applied from 2005 to 2010, and found that 57 of them never went to trial: http://tinyurl.com/7r59pna

This is Florida after all.

(Not trying to be too depressing, I blame it on all these sarcastic cartoons)

going to force at least an investigation. If substantial evidence supports Zimmerman's claim, then I will..well, I'll be surprised. One thing is for sure--we will know what happens.

In this country we hold that a person is innocent until convicted.

Jumping to conclusions before all the facts are in is called prejudice. From what I have read, he was holding a soda pop can, which in the dark could have looked very much like a weapon.

I don’t know exactly what happened and neither do you. Why don’t we wait for the investigation to finish before we lynch the suspect?

Or the phrase "locking up"? Just wondering, because I've never heard of a lynching where the mob gathered in a cornfield and yelled " Let's hold the suspect until all the facts can be determined!" Which makes the comparison seem like hyperbole.

ever single one of those says the image exceeds bandwith and so I can't see any of them.

I have broadband, have never had such a problem before. Plus, I have a brand new faster computer as of three weeks ago. Oh, well, I'm sure they were all interesting.l
