House Contempt Vote Against The Attorney General: What You Need To Know

The House of Representatives is expected to vote Tuesday on a civil contempt resolution against Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn.

-snip-

Nadler's committee has voted on contempt and, on Tuesday, the matter goes before all the members of the House. If the measure passes, it will authorize a civil lawsuit on behalf of the House.

Committee chairmen and women also would become empowered to file their own lawsuits in order to seek documents or testimony in investigations into Trump and administration officials.

Democrats are expected to support it. Republicans, who are a minority in the House, will oppose it. In fact, some Republicans may walk out in protest.

There won't be a single republican that will vote for this contempt measure. They are all spineless cowards.

up to their eyeballs in this corruption that is now in the WH. Why are they protecting a "man" who tweets, watches TV and golfs most of his time? He has no idea what a REAL president is supposed to do, know, act, and they protect this failure. It makes me think that the "fix" is already in for the next so-called election.

they have virtually unlimited funds available to them to keep the vast right-wing machine oiled and running forever. Any Rethugs that get caught are spit out of the machine in disgrace and replaced with fresh young faces looking to make a buck.

If our system was fair and just, Republicans would have been relegated to the margins after Nixon fell.

But then came Rupert Murdoch and friends, and Citizens United........

when they catch someone breaking the law? John Dowd, Trump's lawyer was caught, on tape, floating a pardon to Flynn's lawyer, witness tampering, obstructing justice, abuse of power. Why aren't Democrats demanding that Dowd at least lose his law license? I know it's asking too much that he testify under oath since he will claim executive privilege. Make the bastards pay when they get caught.

To answer your question on why they support the buffoon? Because the buffoon is a decoy, he makes a lot of noise, is on the limelight all day creating anxiety on everyone and diverting the news towards him, all of these allows the "brains" of the corrupt republican party to dismantle, change the rules, cheat, do their Nazi stuff, rob, and all done from the background, no one is paying real attention to them, everyone blames the buffoon missing the point that the buffoon doesn't have enough intellect to come up with all the disastrous ideas the GOP, a criminal institution, is cooking up on a daily basis. How many time do we hear from Stephen Miller?

The buffoon is a decoy, and a good one at that, even his cheating in Golf is news, he is the idiot who can use a pen, and that is why the corrupt GOP loves him, and the fact that I am sure Russia has dirt on all of them and they are kompromised.

To represent them? I just don't get it. An orange criminal psychopath, and his surgically enhanced sex worker, control the most powerful nation on earth. Why would anyone but enemies of the nation want that? And they are willing to break and ignore any law to have him as their representative.

The 300 richest capitalist kings of the US want Trump and a nude model to represent their country. Otherwise he would NOT be there. And they are able to find stupid enough people to fall on their swords for the idiot. We live in psychotic times.

All corporate America has to do is give Trump money, right out in the open for all to see. Trump never divested his businesses, his properties.

Trump begins by giving corporate America and the rich 1.5 trillion dollars which they use to buy back stock and give themselves bonuses, why shouldn't the stock market be booming?

Trump is selling off America to corporate America, Trump is allowing them to poison our food and to pollute our air and water. People are making big bucks from sheltering migrants at the border. Farmers who lost their markets because of Trump are just given billions of taxpayer dollars. Now I see the lobster fishermen in Maine who lost their market also want a Trump hand out.

Why wouldn't corporate America vote for Trump, he is giving them crony capitalism in plain sight with no repercussions.

There is the humiliation of watching the most stupid person in the world and his sex worker represent you. Then there is the destruction of our legal system and our government. Then there is the general degradation of society.

Then there is a very real likelihood all these giveaways to the capitalist kings will destroy our economy. And just imagine all our state secrets being sold off to the richest bidder.

But I see your point. If you have blinders on and only consider your own wealth, you might just want some funky orange ignoramus and his weird looking sex worker to run your country into the ground for your profit. Thanks capitalism and greed.

The chaos tRump leaves in his wake actually can be quite profitable because of the volatility it causes in financial markets. To most stock traders, volatility is a friend.
