7 takeaways from the Democratic debate's first night

Please scroll down to 3rd part of article : 3. ' A Dark Psychic Force ' Marianne Williamson:

Author Marianne Williamson provided one of the night's most memorable moments when she addressed the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, with a stirring condemnation of environmental racism -- and other candidates' approach to talking about it.

"This is part of the dark underbelly of American society, the racism, the bigotry, and the entire conversation that we're having here tonight -- if you think any of this wonkiness is going to deal with this dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred that this President is bringing up in this country, then I'm afraid that the Democrats are going to see some very dark days," she said.

"We need to say it like it is," Williamson said. "It's bigger than Flint. It's all over this country. It's particularly people of color. It's particularly people who do not have the money to fight back, and if the Democrats don't start saying it, why would those people feel they're there for us? And if those people don't feel it, they won't vote for us and Donald Trump will win."

This one sentence says it all:

"This is part of the dark underbelly of American society, the racism, the bigotry, and the entire conversation that we're having here tonight -- if you think any of this wonkiness is going to deal with this dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred that this President is bringing up in this country, then I'm afraid that the Democrats are going to see some very dark days," she said.

Please note these words...."....dark psychic force of collectivized hatred that this President is bringing up in this country..."

2. This hatred is so real and evil that those of us who know it are totally disgusted by it.

It is the real Donald Trump talking. This is who he is, was, and will always be. We must defeat him, and put him on the scrap heap of history.

3. Though I don't support her candidacy at all, I'll definitely give Williamson props for the phrase

"dark psychic force of collectivized hatred that this President is bringing up in this country." And with that idea in mind I'd like to see more discussion in tonight's debate of exactly how much Trump has debased and damaged this country's soul. "Vote for me because I'm not Trump" isn't enough, but I'd really like to see them stop making angels dance on the head of the health care pin and speak out about having a positive, healing vision that's the polar opposite of Trump's "dark psychic force of collectivized hatred," and talk about big picture policies and how they differ from the GOP's and not from each others'. At this point I don't care whether Bernie's or Warren's or Harris' MFA idea is better or if improving the ACA is a better plan than MFA; I care about how nobody should have to do without health care for lack of money. The GOP doesn't want that - that's the dark force. I care that everyone should have access to the education they need and want, whether that's achieved by some "free" college (nothing is "free," btw) or all free college or student loan forgiveness. The GOP doesn't want an educated population except for those who can afford or cheat their way to it - more of the darkness. All of the candidates support women's reproductive freedom, a regulated but humane immigration system, immediate action to combat climate change, policies and programs to support racial equality, serious efforts to prevent foreign interference with elections, the restoration of good relationships with our traditional allies, and many other things Trump and the GOP oppose - things that if not dealt with will maintain and worsen the darkness Trump has brought and the GOP enables. That's what I want to hear tonight.

The GOP has always stood by the rich and those with historical wealth. It has been against universal education, as well as universal health plans. It wants to keep everything for itself. The GOP defines the word selfish. And, so does Donald Trump who is especially proud of his tax cuts for the rich one percent.

6. I've bought Marianne Williamson's books and listen to her on cassette.

I've had many pets during my life and so I went through a lot of pet deaths. The hardest death was of a parrot someone had given to me because it wasn't getting enough attention. His death was unexpected and my fault for burning a pan and not getting him out into clean air. I didn't know; I had never had a parrot before.

I felt such anguish after his death. I couldn't move. I was heartsick.

So I went to the store and found a tape of her speaking about death. I don't remember all of what she said but the anguish went away after listening to her. She is the first one I heard say that relationships don't end they just change form.

She is very wise. She was a teacher for The Course in Miracles.

7. Wetiko is the word Native Americans gave to this psychic virus

When native tribes first came in contact with Europeans they saw the wetiko virus in them. The spiritual virus is highly contagious. I firmly believe in this. Paul Levy has an amazing book titled ‘Dispelling Wetiko’ that I would recommend highly.

Ice has crystals when it freezes. Crystals are neither ugly nor beautiful; they're just a solid material whose constituents are arranged in an ordered microscopic structure, and they are not altered by thoughts. Science!
